BLAH as in Blind Lady Ale House, that is!
Something about summer always reminds me of bike riding. Is it memories of being a kid, too young to even want to drive, but desiring freedom? Is it the more practical, less romantic wish to avoid summer traffic and parking nightmares? Or is it that even as working adult, without summer vacations, we feel there are a couple extra hours in the day, that we have a little more time to spend on ourselves? I don’t know, but spinning around on two wheels couldn’t feel more like summer freedom.
Saturday, August 1st we will be celebrating summer at our annual festival Pedal, Pick, and Grin. We have a lot of great people and organizations who will be on-site celebrating our seasonal crops and bikes, but the day starts at Blind Lady Ale House. Everyone is invited to meet at BLAH at 9am to join in a group bike ride to our farm. This 18-ish mile ride is a chance to meet the folks from BLAH (some of our biggest supporters), meet each other (cuz we think you are pretty great!), and remind yourselves that is possible to get around San Diego on a bike!
Any families out there with kids who won’t make it 18 miles? Bring your bikes to the farm and join in our Bike Parade! Decorations are encouraged so feel free to bust out all the bells and whistles.
Don’t worry about breaking a sweat! There will be plenty of opportunities to cool off at Suzie’s! Homemade gelato and organic juice will be served by Gelato Bus Stop and Juice Wave. And nothing is more relaxing than listening to some tunes in the shade of our eucalyptus grove. We hope you and your two-wheeled friend will join us in putting the “pedal” in Pedal, Pick, and Grin!
