This week we are honored to be featured on the menus of two amazing restaurants. The Red Door and Ballast Point are both hosting respective dinners that pair Suzie’s produce with their own local specialties.
Ballast Point will be serving a prix fixe dinner on Tuesday, April 21st at their tasting room in Little Italy. Each mouthwatering course is paired with one of their brews and is sure to be a fun and festive affair. Their tantalizing menu is posted online, but don’t look if you are hungry!
The Red Door, located in Mission Hills, is a restaurant that sets an example for all of us on how to eat local and organic. With their own small farm they grow as much of their produce needs as possible and turn to local farms to supplement the rest. Their third annual dinner, Farmers, Friends, and Fisherman, will take place on April 22nd and feature their produce, as well as produce from Suzie’s, meat from Taj Farms, and seafood from Catalina Offshore. Tickets need to be purchased in advance and will include talks from local farmers including our own Robin and Lucila!
Not wanting to dilute the term “farm to table,” we like to pay tribute to those who take time to source their produce from us directly. Forming relationships with local restaurants and with YOU is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do and is integral in growing a healthy community. We can’t wait to see the creative interpretations of our veggies and hope you will join us in supporting local businesses choosing to celebrate sustainability and community!
